31 Aug Breaking: Crash in Topsham Takes The Life of a 90-Year-Old Woman

In Topsham, a three-vehicle accident on Route 196 near the Lisbon line, and involving a tractor-trailer truck, a car and a minivan has claimed the life of 90-year-old Jean Brusila, a passenger in the car. Police say 32-year-old Justin Cyr of Lewiston was the westbound driver of the minivan and sideswiped the tractor-trailer, driven by 55-year-old Dana Moore of Freeport. Both Cyr and Moore suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and Cyr’s vehicle continued into the eastbound lane, where it collided with the car.

The accident remains under investigation and traffic on Route 196 in that area, which had been closed for several hours, has now been reopened.
